How about giving actual Lesbian artists credit for working their asses off to make a difference and be heard amidst a homophobic and heteronormative music industry instead of cis men for doing the bare minimum? And how is releasing a “bisexual anthem” makes someone a “lesbian icon”???

In my opinion digital art is the same as traditional art - it’s just different tools. You have to know the fundamentals of drawing FIRST before you can create anything, no matter what the tool is. You have to practice at drawing from life, from reference images, using basic shapes to break things down, understanding the form and function of whatever it is you’re drawing.. etc. There are countless tutorials online for drawing :)

Hey there! I just want you to know you’re far from the first person to admit to being worried they accidentally created a creature similar to pallanophs. That being said, it’s something that happens A LOT when you’re working along the lines of real earth animals and speculative evolution. I like to call it artistic convergent evolution, and I think that’s neat! There’s no shame in it, so don’t be afraid to share if you’re comfortable doing so. And for the record, I don’t think I’ve ever seen my pallanophs as terribly unique in the first place.
The only time I’ve been concerned by similarities is when it was clear the people in question were just flat out plagiarists that didn’t put their own time and effort into the designs they copied. It’s always clear (to me) when someone puts in their own hard work!
And an additional note, since we’re on the topic: Even in the event of Actual Design Plagiarism (haha how do you even define this sometimes?) I don’t condone call-outs on artists in question, I like to handle things in private. Misunderstandings occur, and I don’t foster drama!
s/o to the artists on tumblr that spend hours making art and only get three notes if theyre lucky. youre still awesome and your art is still fantastic
